Welcome to the new British Airways High Life: now online and delivered direct to your inbox.

We know 2020 has been a year that has transformed how, when and where we travel. That’s why we have reinvented High Life magazine to help you dream about and plan your future holidays with confidence.

As many British Airways customers will know, High Life has been the home of trusted and inspiring travel journalism for more than 45 years. In this new world, you’ll find the same high-quality writing, photography, ideas and experiences you’ve come to expect from us. But you’ll also see some exciting new developments:

1. We’re now online

Every month new travel inspiration, ideas, stories and itineraries will be sent by email to five million BA customers and can be found here on bahighlife.com. We’ll still provide print editions in the BA lounges and, while these aren’t yet available on board, you can access our digital magazine for free through the .air Wi-Fi system. We’re ready to read wherever you are, whenever you need us.

2. New on-the-go formats

As well as great travel journalism, you’ll see some exciting new formats, from audio stories you can listen to on the move to photo galleries and video stories from locals and travel experts on the ground. We’re here to indulge your love of travel, whether you’re about to board a plane or dreaming from your armchair.

3. Only BA destinations

This is travel inspiration for the new world. You’ll only hear about BA destinations we can currently fly you to, and we’re packed full of advice and ideas to make your holidays as enjoyable and relaxing as possible, given current advice.

4. Holiday ideas, whatever your situation

We know that travel isn’t the same for everyone. So now in High Life you’ll see everything from easy ideas for family travel to the latest tech trends that business flyers need to know about. You can easily navigate from budget ideas to more luxurious experiences to find the inspiration that’s right for you.

5. Trust at heart

And, finally, we know the world of travel is changing fast, so our expert team of travel journalists will be checking and verifying every activity, idea and recommendation to ensure they’re still accessible. We only use journalists who have visited the destination recently, and all the content is regularly reviewed in the month it’s published to make sure it stays up to date.

Our history

In 1973, British Airways’ High Life became the first ever in-flight magazine, offering readers a world of entertainment and inspiration during their flights. Over the last four decades, it has documented every stage of air travel, from the inauguration of Concorde to the launch of the Airbus A380. Its on-trend content has seen prestigious cover stars including HRH The Prince of Wales, Sir Paul McCartney, Tracey Emin, Idris Elba and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and it was voted one of the most important magazines of the 20th century by Campaign magazine.

Today, High Life is a multiplatform offering, delivering trusted travel inspiration to readers wherever they are – at the airport, on a plane or at home. In addition to special limited-edition print runs, bahighlife.com has become a monthly digital destination for travel news, guides, opinion and inspiration – helping to reconnect readers with the places they love and inspiring new adventures.

The High Life promise

We know safety and security while travelling have never been more important, and that readers have greater expectations of what travel content today should offer. So, to live up to our claim of being a trusted source of travel information, we’re making you some promises:

1) All our articles are checked and verified by our expert travel team before publishing to make sure any referenced experiences are currently available to travellers

2) Each issue is reviewed regularly during the month it’s published to ensure all information and advice is up to date

3) All our articles are written by writers who either live in the destination they are writing about or have visited recently, so their pieces are as fresh and as relevant as possible.
