Ikos Andalusia, where luxury knows no bounds
Give yourself something to look forward to this year with a stay at the luxurious new Ikos Andalusia, on Spain’s southern coast
02/02/2021
Picture yourself, Champagne cocktail in hand, the sun’s rays beating down while the most taxing thing on your mind is which of the many pools to take a dip in or whether to venture on to the private beach for a change of scene. This fantasy can become a reality with a stay at Ikos Andalusia in Estepona, Costa del Sol. The fifth hotel from the contemporary luxury Ikos brand and the first outside of Greece, Ikos’ well-known hospitality, Michelin-starred menus and relaxed, beachfront lifestyle are all present and correct at this brand-new opening.

Ikos Andalusia in all its glory
Andalusia and Ikos
Since its inception in 2015, Ikos Resorts has reimagined the all-inclusive holiday experience with its ‘Infinite Lifestyle’ concept across four incredible properties in Greece, with two in Halkidiki, one in Corfu and one in Kos. ‘Infinite Lifestyle’ is a luxury all-inclusive experience – a guarantee that guests receive impeccable service and upgraded options for exclusive benefits (such as complimentary 24 hour room service) that are almost all part of the original cost. Naturally, when it came to where Ikos Resorts should expand its brand and ethos, Spain’s glamorous southern shores fitted the bill perfectly. Ikos Andalusia is just outside exceptionally pretty Estepona, a town where it’s easy to lose an afternoon wandering around the colourful kaleidoscope of streets. The hotel is ideally situated in an area that’s the calmer, more laidback sister to the glitz and high-octane glamour of nearby Marbella. Temperatures in this part of Spain rarely drop below 17°C in winter and the whole area has a relaxed-and-friendly-meets-beach-club cool vibe.

Chic rooms and suites
With a beachfront setting on the powder-soft sands of Playa de Guadalmansa, Ikos Andalusia offers more than 21 acres of landscaped gardens as well as plenty of leisure facilities for guests – from windsurfing to canoeing for water lovers to spin and Zumba for fitness fans. Each of the 411 rooms has an Iberian chic feel, with white and grey accents and sophisticated gold panelling, while floor-to-ceiling windows reveal either Mediterranean seafront views, tranquil pools or lush gardens. Splash out on the Deluxe Collection suite and bag your own private pool, personal concierge service, private check-in and more.

Fun- and sun-filled days
Keep your vitamin D levels topped up at one of the hotel’s seven pools (including one adult-only) or private beach: a swim in the sea is just the balm after a winter hidden beneath tons of layers. A complimentary childcare service is available at the beach, too – an attractive proposition for those who want a bit of ‘me’ or ‘us’ time. For a fun family activity, take a pedalo out on the water or book your own boat tour or yacht rental (for a supplementary charge). Part of the beauty of the Ikos experience is that it caters for everyone. The crèche, mini club and teen club are for those aged four months up to 17 years, with arts and crafts, cooking and a whole host of sports on the activity menu. Tired limbs can be pepped up at the Ikos Spa by Anne Semonin Paris, where every treatment uses the finest essential oils and minerals, including the hour-long signature hammam ceremony and energising volcanic thermal stones ritual.

Ouzo restaurant, run by Michelin-starred Lefteris Lazarou
Epicurean delights
What’s a great holiday without exceptional food? Ikos Andalusia’s seven restaurants range from Greek-inspired delicacies courtesy of Michelin-starred chef, Lefteris Lazarou, at Ouzo, to the best of southeastern France at Provence, where chef Anthony Jehanno – also Michelin-starred – is at the helm. Spanish-inspired favourites are on the menu at Oliva, a serene spot where guests can enjoy dishes including marinated seabass and Jamón Ibérico, while taking in the picture-perfect pools and gardens. Take advantage of the Dine Out Programme available to guests at Ikos Andalusia, offering holidaymakers the chance to discover local cuisine at some of the best restaurants in the area, all at no extra cost.

Borrow the resort’s Mini for a jaunt to Puerto Banús
And finally…
Need any more convincing that a luxury escape to Ikos Andalusia is just the tonic? As well as the Dine Out Programme, holidaymakers can enjoy a day exploring the Costa del Sol coastline using a complimentary Mini. Then there’s the free green fee for two at Los Naranjos Golf Club, which is considered one of the best in the area. Finally, how about complimentary museum tickets that guests can use when visiting Malaga, home to 30 different museums? Perhaps that Champagne cocktail by the pool is starting to feel closer to reality after all…
