Supporting The Earthshot Prize through the BA Better World Community Fund
From May to December this year, on-board donations from British Airways customers will help support the BA Better World Community Fund. All donations raised will be shared equally between the airline’s five principal Community Fund charity partners – Alzheimer’s Society, The Earthshot Prize, The King’s Trust, the British Red Cross and the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC). Each month, we are spotlight one of these charity partners. This October, we shine a light on The Earthshot Prize.
Founded by Prince William in 2021, The Earthshot Prize has quickly become one of the world’s most prestigious awards for climate innovation and solutions. Earthshot was created to discover, spotlight and scale the groundbreaking climate ingenuity we need to repair and regenerate our planet. As well as supporting the discovery, investment and acceleration of innovative solutions by finalists (ranging from alternative fuels to the reduction of single-use plastics across its fleet), British Airways also contributes to The Earthshot Prize through its Community Fund. This year, customer donations will support the 2024 winner, the High Ambition Coalition for People and Nature, which is working to protect at least 30 per cent of land and ocean by 2030.

Say hello to High Life Stream
There’s now twice as much entertainment to choose from on selected long-haul flights thanks to High Life Stream. As well as the traditional seat-back screens on long-haul flights, a new on-board streaming service has been introduced on some British Airways aircraft that allows passengers to watch in-flight entertainment on their personal devices. High Life Stream can be enjoyed on the A380, selected 787-9 with Wi-Fi connectivity and Thales entertainment and 777-200 with Thales entertainment system – offering double the content that is available on IFE, including box sets, films and kids’ programmes at no extra charge.
