Turn business into pleasure with the BA Amex Business Card
After the past year, we’re all keen on a little bit of added value. Plenty of credit cards offer perks or points, but few sweeten the deal by doubling them. Enter the British Airways American Express Accelerating Business Card, which allows you to build points on no fewer than two programmes – and helps you manage your expenses, to boot
First things first. This, one of three British Airways credit Cards with American Express®, is designed for small (under 50 employees) and medium-sized (under 250 employees) businesses and business owners, maximising your returns and giving you perks in the process. If you’re starting to plan your future post-pandemic business trips, there are great incentives to take the Card out now. Spend £3,000 in the first three months of Cardmembership, and you’ll earn a welcome bonus of 2,200 On Business Points – enough for a return flight to Europe for you or one of your employees. What’s more, spend over £20,000 a year and you’ll get a further 3,000 On Business Points.
For every eligible £1 you spend on your card, you’ll also earn 1.5 Avios* – which you can use when you’re ready to travel again, redeeming them on reward flights and hotel stays, cabin upgrades, car hire and more for you and your family. Want to recalibrate in the Maldives later this year? Get there from as little as 8,700 Avios one-way, plus taxes and fees. Prefer to stay closer to home? You can be in the South of France from 5,900 Avios return.
That’s not all, though. Spend that £1 with British Airways and, in addition to the Avios, you’ll earn 1.5 points with On Business*, BA’s loyalty programme for business travellers, stretching your travel budget further once you’re back in the air. On Business Points can be redeemed on any available British Airways, Iberia or American Airlines flights – extending your network around much of North and South America. You can book the day before travel, making last-minute business trips easier – and more affordable – than ever. On Business members also enjoy greater flexibility – you can change, cancel or upgrade your booking up to 24 hours before your first flight departs.
Finally, to help you budget when times are tough, the Card offers payment flexibility, with up to 56 calendar days to pay without interest when you settle your balance in full. Or you can choose to pay over time, with interest.
Sounds good? You can also get up to 99 Supplementary Cards, so you can consolidate your business expenses across the company in one Account, and everyone can start accruing Avios and On Business Points, getting you all back in the air as soon as possible.
So where will you go when the time is right? A trip to Milan for Fashion Week, normally held in September, starts at 5,900 Avios return. Need to get to the tech capital of the world? One-way flights to San Francisco start from 30,000 Avios, plus taxes. Or go east, flying to Hong Kong (opening image) from 62,500 Avios, plus taxes.
Don’t forget, you can also use On Business Points to book flights if you’d prefer not to use Avios. And, if you want to travel in style, you can use either Avios or On Business Points for a cheeky upgrade.
The Card (interest rate for purchases: 22.2% p.a variable; representative APR: 80.3% variable based on an annual fee of £210 and assumed borrowing of £1,200) is the only Credit Card that allows you to accrue points across the two BA schemes. And, of course, they mount up whatever you’re spending your money on – so every supplier payment, cloud space purchase or advertising spend made on your Card will help you and your business reach your travel goals as soon you’re ready to fly once more. Now there’s something to look forward to.
