Before now, earning tier points has only been possible by taking British Airways or oneworld® flights, but until 1 February 2026 (enrolment ends 25 January 2026), BA Amex® Premium Plus Cardmembers who meet the required spending thresholds will earn tier points simply by spending on their Card as usual after enrolment. This injection of bonus points (which could be up to 2,500 tier points) could help British Airways Club members continue to enjoy fabulous airport and in-flight extras, or even see them move up a tier, unlocking yet more rewards and experiences.
To get this limited time offer you must opt in here.
Remind me: how do tier points work?
British Airways has four tier levels – Blue, Bronze, Silver and Gold – all of which bring different benefits. For every £1 you spend on a flight or extras with BA, you earn one tier point, which can help you to move from one tier to another (the tier point earning period resets every year on 1 April). This new offer from British Airways gives BA Amex® Premium Plus Cardmembers another way to build on their tier status and maximise the possible rewards.

How many tier points will I earn?
The amount of tier points boosting your British Airways balance will depend on your spending during the offer period. You’ll earn 750 tier points when you spend £15,000, accumulate another 750 if you hit £20,000 and another 1,000 if you reach an accrued total spend of £25,000. That’s a potential 2,500 tier points in six months. This kind of bump could have you well on your way from Blue to Bronze or make a nice dent in shifting from Bronze to Silver. Most importantly, additional tier points of this quantity are likely to help you maintain your current tier status and its various benefits for another year.
Why should I enrol for this exclusive offer?
Simply put, there’s no reason not to. Opt in here, then continue to spend on your Card as usual. Anything you buy, from cinema tickets and groceries to pet food and magazine subscriptions, will help you on your way to either retaining your current privileges or gaining whole new ones. Not only could the offer move you up a tier, but it might make the difference between qualifying for that precious Companion Voucher or not (a Companion Voucher allows you to get an extra seat on a Reward Flight for your travel companion for no additional Avios, or a 50 per cent Avios discount if you’re travelling solo).

What benefits can I look forward to at different tier levels?
The advantages of each tier point level vary depending on your status, but they’re all likely to enhance your holiday experience. For starters, you’ll also collect mid-tier Avios boosts, namely, 2,500 bonus Avios when you reach 5,500 tier points, 4,000 Avios for 11,000 tier points and 5,000 Avios at 16,000 tier points. What’s more, perks of Bronze membership include free seat selection a week before take-off (handy for those long-haul flights) as well as use of the priority check-in and boarding lines. Silver members will enjoy access to the business lounge and a complimentary extra luggage allowance, while Gold members receive a first-class experience, including access to the First lounge, check-in and boarding lines as well as more Reward Flight booking availability.
